A New Beginning
I started playing the bass guitar in my freshman year of high school. I played in many different bands over the next few years and had a dream of being a famous rock musician like all of the men I idolized at the time. In the darkened state of mind I was in at the time I attempted to gain this position of power by worshiping and serving Satan. I had seen and experienced the dark powers behind much of the music I was listening to and was convinced many of these musicians had gained their power through Satan. Thankfully God had different plans for me and in late August 1989 at the age of 20 I was miraculously born again into the family of God and translated into the kingdom of His dear Son. After my conversion I immediately forsook all of those wicked desires and sold my bass guitar to purchase an acoustic guitar instead. I felt the bass was part of my old man and I wanted everything to be new. At this point I really did not know how to play an acoustic guitar or to sing, but I had a desire to worship and glorify God through music. Truly He had put a new song in my heart, even praise unto our God!! I eventually bought a book that taught the basics of finger picking which laid the foundation for my present day style. Admittedly I am not a very accomplished guitarist even after so many years of playing, but I write songs to the best of my ability in hopes that they will bring glory to the King and edification to His people.
Many of these songs are very simple and easy to play so as time permits I will add the lyrics and chords to the ones that I have written. I will not add chords to more popular songs that I did not write so that I do not infringe upon copyright laws but I will add the lyrics. In time I will also try to give a little background to each song. At this point I am dividing this music into 6 different albums so that it will be easier for you to find a song or to download an entire album. You can access each album by clicking on the yellow links below. At the bottom of each album page you will find a flash player that will allow you to listen to the entire album at one.
Some of the songs on these albums use the Hebrew titles for God in them so here is a short breakdown of the transliterations. YAHVEH is The LORD which in Hebrew literally is his name. Adonai is the Lord or my Lord which is His title like the Lord God. You could even say the Lord the LORD or Adonai YAHVEH. Elohiym is God, Elohai is my God, Eloheyka is thy God and so forth.
