The album Absolute Surrender was recorded in January of 2001 at In His Service studios in Portland Oregon. It was kind of interesting how it all worked out. Somewhere around June of 2000 a friend of mine gave me a tape while I was living in Oklahoma City by a man named Daniel Markoya. The recording was of Daniel playing the acoustic guitar and singing very nice biblical songs. I really liked the tape and was able to learn a few of the songs. A number of months later I was at a home church gathering in Portland Oregon and as I was walking up to the place where everyone was gathered together there was a man sitting there with a guitar playing some songs. I was a little confused for a moment because I knew I had heard his voice before and even knew the song but it did not register immediately that it was Daniel Markoya playing. During the meeting he mentioned that he had access to a studio and if anyone felt God had put it in their hearts to make a recording he could produce a CD for them. After the gathering I introduced myself and we worked out a time to meet in the studio. So this album was produced for free by Daniel Markoya at In His Service Studios. All of these recordings were done rather quickly in the space of 2 days so it is not exceedingly polished. I hope they are a blessing to all who hear them.
